What is a disability income elimination period?
Elimination periods are also often known as "time deductibles."
Elimination period can simply be defined as the period the insured must wait in order for their benefits to start.
Common elimination periods are 90 or 180 day (3-6 months). There is also 1 year and 2 year elimination periods, but we usually see 90 days most times, and 180 if the clients have a strong emergency fund.
